🏛️ About Us
💡 The Indian Insurance Institute, Kolkata — a pioneer of its kind in India — was founded in 1930 by eminent nationalists like Sri Surendranath Tagore, Sri S.C. Roy, and others.
Their vision was to uplift indigenous insurance companies struggling against the unequal competition from foreign insurers supported by colonial rulers.
👥 Over time, distinguished leaders such as Dr. N.R. Sarkar, Sri H.C. Chakraborty, and Sri A.C. Sen took charge as Presidents and General Secretaries of the Institute.
They played a crucial role in promoting insurance education across the nation.
🤝 The Indian Insurance Institute, along with a few others, was instrumental in establishing the Federation of Insurance Institutes, which later became known as the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai in 1955.
📍Since then, the Indian Insurance Institute, Kolkata has been functioning as an affiliated local chapter under the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai — continuing its commitment to excellence in insurance education.
